Contact plugin

Contact plugin allows to display a contact page composed by a static page and/or a form.

Pre-install

Require geeklog 1.8.0 or greater.

Install

Autoinstall

1. As one of your site's Root users

  • visit {site_url}/admin/plugins.php
  • Upload the plugin archive (.zip) : Select it on your HD and press Upload.

2. Done. If the installation completed successfully you can skip to the next step. Otherwise, check the geeklog error.log for errors.

Manual install

Geeklog can auto install plugins. See above.

If you need to manualy install the plugin.

  • Uncompress the contact plugin archive while in the path-to-geeklog/plugins directory. The archive will create a directory called contact.
  • Under your <public_html> directory, create a directory called contact.
  • Under <public_html>/admin/plugins/ directory, create a directory called contact.
  • Change to your path-to-geeklog/plugins/contact directory.
  • Copy the files in the admin directory to the admin/plugins/contact directory you created in step 4.
  • Copy the files in the public_html directory to the public_html/contact directory you created in step 3.
  • Go to the plugin administration page. The contact plugin should show up with a link to install it. Click this link. The install page will tell you if it was successful or not. If not, examine the Geeklog error.log in path-to-geeklog/logs/ to see what the problem was. Fix the problem and re-install.

Upgrade

To upgrade an existing contact plugin installation, please upload all the files from the archive to their respective location, replacing the older versions of the same files.

Message on contact form Customise the message on the contact page
Static page id for contact page header You customise the contact page header with a static page
Static page id for contact page footer You customise the contact page footer with a static page
Use contact form Yes or no you want to use the contact form on the contact page
Recipient user UID User UID of the recipient for the message sent from the contact form

Usage

If you need to customise your contact page, create a static page with id=contact (see config above).

A staticpage can be composed by 2 static page with autotag [staticpage_content]

You can also use the formmail feature.
